PSY is where raw evidence becomes a clinical character profile. It consumes validated MAT materials and builds a deep, multi-layered psychological formulation using the 5P model (Presenting, Predisposing, Precipitating, Perpetuating, Protective) — grounded in DSM-5, ICD-11, and 78 curated clinical theory references. Every claim must show the behavior, not announce the diagnosis. The framework emits PSY.refresh which feeds both EVL (re-score) and CRE (recalibrate content).

psy:wave orchestrates three sequential passes — each wave can only start when the previous is complete and cross-validated. Skipping a wave is not possible; the orchestration gate enforces ordering.

Cross-character validation via psy:crossref — 10 consistency dimensions (4 automated + 6 LLM-judged). Health-check scoring on all 25 expected profile files. Every character profile is exactly 25 files across 6 directories — no more, no fewer. psy:health-check scores completeness against this schema; missing files are named, not quietly assumed absent. Rule 01 defines the canonical layout.

psy:crossref validates the profile against 4 dimensions deterministically (scripts can run them reliably) and submits 6 dimensions to LLM judgment (they require reading nuance across files). A profile with unresolved inconsistencies cannot emit PSY.refresh.

psy:crisis-assess results are cache: never. A stale risk verdict on a character's safety indicators is worse than no verdict — it creates false assurance. Every session that touches crisis-adjacent profile content must re-run the assessment from the current evidence, never from a stored snapshot. DSM-5/ICD-11 severity levels are applied fresh each time.

Clinical terms belong in profile files; they must not surface in published content. The discipline runs in both directions: every profile claim must point to a behavior observable in the evidence (not just label a construct), and every content piece derived from the profile must translate clinical insight into accessible human language without announcing the diagnosis. Every clinical construct used in a profile must have a corresponding file in docs/references/. The library currently holds 78 entries spanning attachment theory, defense mechanisms, trauma models, personality frameworks, DSM-5 criteria, and ICD-11 categories. Unknown patterns must be added to the library before they are applied to a profile — not after.
